Welcome Home -
Transitional Housing Ministry
Welcome Home has its roots in conversations with leaders of urban churches, ministries and social service organizations who communicated the belief that the most pressing need of the poor in Cincinnati is safe, affordable housing.
An opportunity for WellSpring to actively address that need arose in 2007, when we were given the long-term use of three houses in the neighborhood of Northside. With the investment of $50,000 and countless volunteer man-hours, these homes were renovated.
In relationship with ministry partners in Northside, we have placed families into each of the homes, and continue to stay in relationship with those families through life coaches and nurture teams.
Plans for the Future
- Acquire and renovate additional houses
- Create a separate nonprofit organization that will allow us to pursue outside funding for which church ministries do not qualify
- Invite other suburban churches to partner with us by “adopting” homes – providing the funding and the volunteer manpower both for renovation and caring for residents
