Outreach Partners
In addition to WellSpring’s three main outreach initiatives (Edge Teen Center, Welcome Home transitional housing, and our ministry partners in Lira, Uganda), families that attend WellSpring serve our world through our church’s various other outreach partners.
There are opportunities for individuals or families to get involved on a one-time or ongoing basis. For more information about how you can support our outreach partners, contact us.

Whiz Kids Tutoring
Many of our urban youth are caught in a downward spiral of poverty and despair. Studies show that there are two key factors that break this cycle: education and a relationship with a caring adult. Whiz Kids exists to bring both of these together in powerful one-on-one tutoring relationships.
How WellSpring Can Help: This year WellSpring is working with 2nd graders at Independence Elementary School. Each tutor commits to meet with the same student once a week for one hour during the course of the school year, usually after school. Whiz Kids provides training for tutors.
Middletown Choice Pantry
The Middletown Choice Pantry provides food and other items on a monthly basis to the needy in Middletown and the surrounding areas. Clients make their own selections and decisions in the same style as going to a grocery store. Other services are also available in the areas of budgeting, emergency assistance, job readiness, and individual, family and drug counseling.
How WellSpring Can Help: Volunteers are needed to work when the pantry is open to the public, and can either assist shoppers or stock shelves. Volunteers are also needed on other days/times to unload and sort food, stock shelves, etc. WellSpring as a community also partners with the pantry by conducting quarterly food/item drives.
Teamworks Mentoring Partnership
Teamworks connects program participants from Cincinnati Works – one of the most successful chronic unemployment placement agencies – with caring mentors in order to support job placement, retention and self sufficiency.
How WellSpring Can Help: Anyone who cares about people in poverty, has had steady job experience and is 22+ years of age can volunteer. You will meet with your mentee one to two times per month and connect via phone/email weekly, as you help them with job-related matters and foster their personal growth and confidence. Training is provided.
Car Acquisition and Repair Team Ministry (CART)
We are always looking for volunteers to help with our Car Care Days, a special outreach to provide free oil changes for people who might not be able to afford them otherwise. WellSpring volunteers work on the cars, wash cars and provide hospitality while the car owners wait.
Also through this ministry, WellSpring distributes donated vehicles to needy families or individuals in the Butler/Warren County area who have found themselves in need of assistance in acquiring reliable transportation. Note: Since we are dependent on donations of vehicles, we regret that we cannot provide a vehicle to every applicant. Contact us to learn more about the Application and Qualification process.
People who donate vehicles to WellSpring will receive the satisfaction of knowing you have helped someone in need and you may also receive a valuable tax deduction of up to the full market value for the vehicle. Please team with us in this important work!
